The last fifteen years have seen many changes to the role assessments play in classrooms across the U.S. Mounting pressures for accountability placed on schools by lawmakers and the public have contributed to this discussion.

Using the module readings, Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research on the role assessments play in education today. Based on your research, write a précis that answers the following:

• How has the importance of assessments changed in the last fifteen years? Why? Provide reasons for this change.

A précis is a brief summary that presents the main points of an argument or topic in concise form. Develop a 1–2-page précis in Word format. Apply APA standards to citation of sources.
